Kimberly Simmons is a Florida native with over 20 years of teaching experience in 3rd and 4th grades. Her career includes experience in public education as well as many years in private Christian education, where she continues to teach today. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Saint Leo University, where she also earned her ESOL endorsement.
Kimberly is married to her high school sweetheart. She and her husband have a beautiful daughter who is entering her freshman year at FSU this fall, having already earned her Associate of Arts (AA) degree while in high school.
Aside from teaching and family life, Kimberly enjoys fishing, hunting, photography, cooking, canning and preserving food, gardening, playing the piano, going to the beach, and spending time with her dog.
Kimberly was fortunate to teach at the same school her daughter attended from 1st through 12th grade, allowing her roles as both an educator and a parent to overlap in a meaningful way. That experience has been a wonderful blessing and has strengthened her belief in the importance of family involvement and partnership in a child’s education.
