Barbara Mulkey brings 30 years of experience teaching mathematics, including 10 years as an online teacher with a major education provider. A certified educator with professional certifications in Mathematics, Gifted Education, ESOL, and Social Science, Barbara brings extensive experience supporting students with a wide range of learning needs and abilities.

At Purple Apple Learning, Barbara works with students in grades 5–8, helping them strengthen math skills, build confidence, and develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.

One of Barbara’s greatest strengths is breaking challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps that make sense to each learner. She creates a patient, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, working through mistakes, and experiencing those rewarding “light bulb” moments when a concept finally clicks.

As a mother of four and grandmother of three, Barbara understands that every student learns differently. She values meeting learners where they are and helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to move forward.

In 2020, Barbara was honored as Teacher of the Year, recognizing her dedication to her students and her love of teaching.
